Northern Right Whales are very slow, almost clumsy swimmers. Like other baleen whales, they tend to feed by skimming plankton and krill near the surface. At times, they can be very playful, breaching, lobtailing, or even standing on their heads and shaking their flukes above the surface for as long as two minutes.
